Course Description

Taking a rational and spiritual approach, this course addresses the issue of atheism by exploring its causes and providing Muslim arguments for the existence of God as presented in the Quran. It covers theological concepts like Qadr (predestination), free will, and the problem of evil, provides historical evidence of the Prophet Muhammad's authenticity, and introduces spiritual elements such as angels and the power of Ruqyah. Students also learn about life after death and the Day of Judgment, encouraging a hereafter-focused life through doing good deeds and avoiding sins.

Learning Objectives

  • Nurturing faith: Recognize the nature of faith, its challenges and learn methods to strengthen faith, and set goals for continual spiritual growth.
  • Arguments for the existence of God: Discover how these arguments are found and presented throughout the Quran.
  • The Problem of Evil and Suffering: Understand the nature of divine decree (Qadr) and free will.
  • Proofs of  prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): Use three proofs: miracles, character, and biblical prophecies predicting his coming to establish his prophethood as an indisputable historical fact.
  • Angels: Learn how to live a life that invites their praise and protection while being safeguarded from the spiritual and physical harms of devils.
  • Hereafter-focused life: Explore the journey of death and its nature, and the events of the Day of Judgment, emphasizing the importance of being devoted to doing good deeds in this life to ensure eternal pleasure in the afterlife.
